Involve Northwest pops up in The Grange Precinct
Involve Northwest’s Reach Out project took to the Grange Precinct in Birkenhead to meet the public and to ensure that its support message was seen.
Staff from the Involve Northwest team took its new Pop Up Advice Centre to a prime spot in the retail area of the Grange Precinct to meet and talk with members of the public.
The ReachOut service, aimed at people who are currently unemployed and over the age of 30, offers free, confidential advice and guidance to support pathways back into employment.
Lia Robinson, Deputy Chief Executive Officer & Contract Manager ReachOut, said “It is vital that we take all opportunities in offering our support to the people who are looking for ways back into employment. Our Pop Up Advice Centre brought our staff into a key area of Birkenhead o they could meet the local community.. It proved a great success and is something we will be continuing to do over the coming months ahead.
She added, “We provide one-to-one support with help in writing or amending CVs, support with job applications, practicing interview techniques, together with confidence building and, of course, help in looking for jobs – which includes access to funding such as Merseytravel passes, into work incentives and interview clothes, to remove barriers to work.”
Involve Northwest was joined on the day by the Birkenhead First Town Hosts, who also offered their support in ensuring that the Pop Up Advice Centre made a lasting and positive impression with potential customers.
Both Birkenhead First, Birkenhead’s Business Improvement District initiative, and Involve Northwest both occupy offices at The Lauries, which is also home to organisations such as Alzheimer's Society, and Local Solutions.
Paula Basnett, CEO of Wirral Chamber of Commerce, added her support, she said, “We were delighted for our Birkenhead First Town Hosts to join the team of Involve Northwest for its initial Pop Up Advice sessions, and we will offer our support for future events. Involve Northwest and Birkenhead First are important occupiers of The Lauries, both providing key support services which are working tirelessly to improve Birkenhead for people to live and to work.”
