The Lauries plays a pivotal role in supporting both Wirral's businesses and its people. With hands on support for new start and existing businesses available, it helps in developing and creating employment opportunities. By offering flexible and affordable office space, free or discounted meeting and training rooms, together with support for local groups, charities and other organisations, The Lauries is an active venue in supporting businesses and the community

Amongst tenants at The Lauries are companies and community based organisations, such as Kare Plus, Wirral Supported Lodgings, and Involve NorthWest (ReachOut). The Lauries facilities are regularly used by NHS Blood Donations and Wirral Met College for key events including training and recruitment sessions.
Home to Birkenhead First, Wirral's business improvement district initiative, which works within local business and social communities. It organised major community based events, such as the Be In Birkenhead Summer Festival which attracted thousands of people, and has introduced Town Hosts as Birkenhead
Since 2015, The Lauries has been utilised as home to the Rucksack Challenge, an initiative collecting hundreds of food, toiletries, and clothing items, together with donations of blankets, sleeping bags and rucksacks in support of the YMCA Wirral and Charles Thompson Mission in helping
the homeless and rough sleepers through the winter months.
